In the Hokka Falls, the Waikato River runs 100 meters long and then suddenly narrows to a distance of 15 meters as it passes through the harsh volcanic edge. This, of course, leads to the accumulation of a huge amount of water, which is a spectacular view of the falls.
Hokka Falls is one of the most exciting and most visited natural attractions in New Zealand. Huka Falls is created by flowing water through the wide riverbed to about 100 meters and four meters deep, and then confined to the narrow river for about 15 meters in width.
The upper part of the falls, featuring a group of small waterfalls falling to more than eight meters. However, the most impressive part of the Huka Falls monitors large amounts of water flow on an 11-meter (35-foot) slope. The average daily flow is about 160 cubic meters per second.
The wide Waikato River stretches to about 100 meters while narrowing 15 meters by crossing the harsh volcanic edge in the north of Lake Tobu, accumulating a huge amount of water hitting the rocky corridor and creating spectacularly strong waterfalls. Activities about Hokka Falls
Walking Trails Thetwo hiking trails are the easy way in Taupo, which takes you on a two-hour stroll, starting from the Park Resort and back in the Hokka Falls. This path crosses the natural hot springs of Otumuheke, through the grooves, forests and open agricultural lands, and offers this path to a wonderful view over the Waikato River and the open valleys along the way.
Biking Tracks Begin the mountain biking trails of Rotary with a 4 km stretch to the Hokka Falls, then return on continuing your journey all the way to Aratiatia.
