The iconic Monument of Love, the Taj Mahal, was built between 1631 and 1648 by the emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of this wife, Mumtaj. The meaning of Taj Mahal is the crown palace. The Taj Mahal is also regarded as one of the best-preserved monuments in the world. It is also the best Indian Muslim architecture that one can witness.  This monument of love was called a teardrop on the cheek of eternity by the renowned Indian poet Rabindra Nath Tagore. This place is overcrowded, and that is why the best time is to go there in the early hours when the crowd is less. You can visit the Taj at two different times of the day, early in the morning or in the dusk. The most amazing view is during the full moon when the view is stunning. You can avail tickets from the south gate which opens at 8 am every morning. But is 1 kilometers far from the entrance. You can go to the west gate where the counter opens at 6 am. There are many vendors that sell self-guided audio tours for Rs 100 (English and foreign language). For Indian language, you need to pay Rs 60.

The Taj Mahal is located in the center of the city. There are crowds all the time. There are three gates. The western gate is the main entrance where the tourist can enter. You can also avail the night viewing session during the full moon night. For this, you need to avail the tickets 24 hours back. You can view the stunning view from the red sandstone plaza for 30 minutes. There are mosquitoes, and that is why it is very much advisable to use mosquito repellants. You can also bring a small torch to the interior of the Taj can be very dark. There is also the provision to see the Taj before two days or after two days of the full moon night. For Indians the ticket costs around Rs 500 and Rs 750 for foreign nationals. You can visit from 20:30 to 21:00 and 09:00 to 21:30.
